Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Padmavati has been embroiled in deep controversy since the idea of making a film on the royal queen was born. Be it Sanjay Leela Bansali being beaten up on the sets of Padmavati in Rajasthan by goons or the death threats to him and the lead lady, Deepika, things have not gone in favour of the movie or its crew at any stage.
As the film fraternity comes out in support of Padmavati and its crew, condemning the dangerous and terrifying death threats against the cast, something just doesn’t seem right yet again… Recently actress Kangana Ranaut refused to sign a petition called ‘Deepika Bachao’. But why didn’t she sign it?
Well, we are all aware of the arch-rivalry between Kangana and Deepika and there were speculations too that she refused to sign the petition because of her tiff with Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar. But Kangan later cleared the air when she revealed the reason.
According to reports, the petition ‘Deepika Bachao’ was launched by veteran actor Shabana Azmi and she had asked the film fraternity to sign it so that she can send it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter. A huge number of actors, producers, and film-makers came forward and signed the said petition except for Kangana Ranaut.
Replying to the floating speculations, Kangana replied,”I was filming Manikarnika in Jodhpur, got a call from my dear friend Anushka Sharma to sign the petition written by Ms Shabana Azmi, I explained to Anushka that Deepika Padukone has all my support but I am a bit wary of Shabana Azmi’s investment in left wing vs right wing politics. I have my own set of ideas and opinions about the current situation in our country, I am on the fence about many things and being a part of a feminist movement called ‘Deepika bachao‘ lead by someone who character assassinated me when I was bullied, seems to be one of them. Anushka understood but I am glad they reached out to me, like I said Deepika has all my support I am an individual perfectly capable of supporting who I like without anyone’s support.”
Turns out Kangana has no qualms about supporting Deepika but does have a problem with the fact that the person who initiated the petition is Shabana Azmi. But it’s hard to ignore the fact that Kangana and Deepika do share an uneasy equation. If you take a close look, it all started in 2014 when Deepika dedicated her win for Happy New Year to Kangana. It should be noted that Kangana’s hit movie, Queen had released the same year.
When Kangana was asked to react to Deepika’s gesture, she said instead of the gesture, she would have thanked Deepika if she had applauded Kangana’s performance. Meanwhile, Kangana is busy shooting for her next ambitious project and historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Kangana plays the role of Rani Laxmibai. And her pics from the set has already taken the internet by storm.
In these images, Kangana can be seen donning a turban and royal ensemble with a sword and heavy jewellery. HSe looks a total stunner and a true queen and we are definitely and 100% sure that she will nail this role. Currently, she is shooting for the movie at Jaipur’s Amber Fort and we are absolutely blown away by her regal appearance.
